HONG KONG, Nov. 07, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Hong Kong is preparing to transform its bustling Central into a magical winter wonderland as the city rolls out a thrilling programme of seasonal events to enhance its reputation as the premier Christmas capital of Asia. A sleigh–full of special celebrations is being organised across the city, with the showpiece event – the spectacular annual Hong Kong WinterFest – spreading festive delight through the heart of Hong Kong from 14 November 2025 to 4 January 2026.

Transforming Central into a Winter Wonderland (14 November 2025 – 4 January 2026)

“Winter Wonderland in Central” will bring the joy of Christmas to Hong Kong with a breathtaking lineup of events. For the first time, iconic landmarks in Central will be turned into a vast illuminated canvas for an “Immersive Light Show in Central”, while a 20–metre–high outdoor Christmas tree will tower above a bustling Christmas Town. Nearby, Chater Road will be lit up as a Starlight Boulevard to extend the joyful atmosphere by connecting seamlessly with the largest festive installation ever in LANDMARK ATRIUM, “Noëlia at LANDMARK,”– an annual installation that much of Hong Kong eagerly awaits, extending the joyful atmosphere across the district. Together, these events will generate a dazzling visual symphony and make the night sky of Central sparkle like a string of brilliant Christmas tree lights.

HKTB Chairman Dr Peter Lam said, “This year’s Hong Kong WinterFest is being presented in a new format and features the most extensive lineup and richest event elements to date. We aim to create a strong festive atmosphere citywide and reinforce Hong Kong’s position as Asia’s top winter travel destination. We are delighted to collaborate with Hongkong Land to turn Central into a Winter Wonderland. Together with the new “Immersive Light Show in Central”, Central will become a brand new festive hotspot. This initiative not only enhances the holiday experience for locals and visitors but also stimulates the seasonal economy. We are grateful for the widespread support from industry partners, including the Quality Tourism Services Association, Hong Kong Retail Management Association, and a wide range of attractions and malls who are joining hands to offer festive dining, shopping deals, and activities.”

Statue Square Garden in Central is Turned into a Christmas Town with Return of Much–Loved Christmas Tree (14 November 2025– 4 January 2026)

From 14 November, Statue Square Garden in Central will be turned into a joyous Christmas Town where visitors of all ages can experience the childlike wonder of winter as if stepping into the pages of a fairy tale. The town will be packed with classic and colourful toy–themed decorations such as spaceships, puppets, and miniature trains. As Christmas approaches, visitors will be treated to live carol performances and surprise appearances by Santa Claus to deliver an extra helping of holiday cheer. A Christmas market featuring 12 festive chalets will open on 28 November, serving up a mouthwatering array of seasonal delicacies and offering gifts and workshops for locals and visitors to enjoy. It will be the perfect place to get in the mood for an unforgettable holiday season.

The glittering showpiece at the heart of Christmas Town will be a 20–metre–tall outdoor Christmas tree – the height of a six–storey building. Wrapped in shimmering ribbons like an enormous Christmas gift, the magnificent tree will light up the entire town with its warm glow. Extending the joyous spirit of the Christmas Town, Chater Road will undergo a magical transformation into a Starlight Boulevard. Over 30 trees along Chater Road will be adorned with shimmering lights, creating a festive atmosphere in the outside spaceThe pedestrian footbridges will be aglow, and a Christmas tree light installation will be suspended above the entrance to Chater House, creating a striking visual centrepiece for the display. HONG KONG, Nov. 05, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — As one of Asia’s top wellness destinations, Hong Kong blends vibrant city energy with crisp autumn air, scenic coastal trails, and tranquil escapes around every corner.

When the 2025 Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon returns on 30 November, the city will once again transform into a thrilling stage for cyclists from around the world. After racing into the excitement, slow down and savour Hong Kong’s restorative side – from the latest sports and leisure landmark to seaside strolls – for the perfect way to refresh body and mind this season.

Cyclothon Carnival – The Ultimate Wellness Playground

The Hong Kong Cyclothon is the city’s largest annual cycling event, where thousands of elite athletes and everyday riders pedal side by side through one of the world’s most cinematic urban backdrops – the signature Victoria Harbour.

While cyclists ride in various races and activities, the Cyclothon Carnival in the West Kowloon Cultural District welcomes all activity lovers to immerse themselves in a plethora of wellness and entertainment experiences.

In the Carnival, workshops led by professional coaches range from classic workouts to emerging sports. The penny–farthing experience introduces participants to the unique high wheeler that dates to the Victoria era, while padel workshops put the spotlight on the new sport that has been sweeping the globe. Stretching, Zumba, and more keep the energy high, while live busking sets the perfect vibe to chill. Get Moving at the City’s Newest Waterfront Sports & Leisure Hub

Spanning 1.3 million square feet between Wu Kai Sha and Sai Kung, GO PARK Sai Sha is Hong Kong’s newest landmark for movement, wellness, lifestyle and fun on the waterfront.

At GO PARK Sports, athletes and beginners alike can dive into a world of activity, from community tracks for both cycling and running built for professional events to Hong Kong’s only dedicated outdoor pickleball courts. The complex also features the city’s only public golf driving range equipped with advanced Trackman radar technology, plus padel courts, tennis courts, football pitch, lacrosse fields, a balance–bike area and multi–purpose courts.

Down by the water, GO PARK Aqua invites visitors to explore Hong Kong’s idyllic coastal side with kayaking, stand–up paddleboarding, wingfoiling and snorkelling – all set against Sai Sha’s scenic shoreline. Hop on a boat adventure to Sham Chung, a quaint Hakka village nestled among lush nature and geological wonders, and enjoy handline fishing and a sumptuous seafood lunch that highlight the local fishing heritage.

Stroll and Workout in New Spaces Facing Victoria Harbour Panorama

Hong Kong’s reimagined waterfronts invite visitors to move and unwind along the city’s most scenic shoreline. As part of the plan to open up iconic harbourfronts to locals and travellers, two new shoreline connections – the East Coast Boardwalk in North Point and the Kai Tak GreenWay at Kai Tak Promenade and Shing Fung Road Park in Kai Tak Development area – offer fresh ways to experience Victoria Harbour at different perspectives from both sides of the harbour.

At the East Coast Boardwalk, stroll, jog, or cycle beside the water while taking in sweeping views. Families can enjoy wave–inspired play zones, outdoor fitness stations, a fishing platform, and sunset–facing seating, mostly sheltered beneath the highway.

Across the water, the Kai Tak GreenWay at Kai Tak Promenade and Shing Fung Road Park follows the path of the city’s historic airport runway, now reborn as a green corridor of shared–use path for cyclists and pedestrian within open promenades, and leisure spaces for the community to gather, relax and explore at their own pace.

From high–energy Cyclothon Carnival, new sports and leisure landmarks to serene waterfronts, Hong Kong has it all. Now’s the time to lace up your sneakers and plan a revitalising escape to rediscover the city’s rejuvenating spirit.

Cheung Yat Fung, the acclaimed chef behind three–Michelin–starred Chao Shang Chao (Chaoyang), sees the festival as a platform for cultural exchange. “Hong Kong’s reputation as a gourmet capital where East meets West is perfectly embodied by the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival, which bring top chefs from across the world together under one roof,” he shares. “I’m excited to showcase my signature Chaozhou cuisine at the Tasting Room and collaborate with esteemed peers to craft an innovative menu that blends tradition with creativity.”

Jayson Tang of Michelin–starred Man Ho Chinese Restaurant – JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong looks forward to showcasing the city’s culinary heritage. “As a local chef, I see the festival as a chance to share the elegance and versatility of Cantonese cuisine with a global audience.”

His fellow Hong Kong chef, Menex Cheung of China Tang echoes this sentiment, adding that the festival taps into the city’s creative spirit. “Hong Kong has always been a melting pot of culture and flavour. At the Wine & Dine Festival, I want guests to experience how that spirit of innovation and fusion defines our food scene – and why it continues to make our city so special.”

Meanwhile, Adam Wong, executive chef of Hong Kong’s three–Michelin–starred Forum, returns to once again shine a spotlight on one of his most celebrated dishes and a true Hong Kong classic. “I had such a rewarding experience at Wine & Dine Festival last year,” he reflects. “It’s inspiring to see even more world–renowned talent joining this time, and I’m delighted to share our signature Braised Forum Dried Abalone once again.
